McLaren has officially unveiled it's new 540C Sports car in Shanghai Motor Show. This is new entry level sports car from McLaren and it is most affordable model yet.
It is powered by the twin-turbo 3.8 litre V8 used in 570S, but it churn out 533Bhp instead of 562Bhp. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. 540C comes with enhanced aerodynamics package, as well as unique 19-inch rims at front and 20-inch at the back and is available in with a silver or stealth finish.
It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.5sec and can achieve a top speed of 320kmph. The 540C is built around a carbon-fibre chassis called MonoCell II and features aluminum body panels. It weighs 1311kg, which is just 2kg lighter than the 570S.
The 540C has premium leather upholstery covering the seats, dashboard and the door panels. The car also boasts a 7-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and GPS navigation.
